Tragic reports reveal that the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk has been struck by missile attacks from Russia, resulting in the loss of eight lives and leaving 21 individuals injured. Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that the missile strikes targeted seven locations within the city, employing S-300 surface-to-air missiles.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the military administration in the Donetsk region, expressed that the missiles struck residential areas, including both multi-apartment complexes and civilian structures.
Describing the attack as one of the most extensive this year, he emphasized the magnitude of the devastation caused.
Vadym Liakh, the head of the military administration in Sloviansk, reported that the missiles had impacted multiple districts of the city. Rescue operations are currently underway, and Kyrylenko urged civilians to evacuate to safer areas to ensure their well-being.
Responding to this heinous act, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. In his nightly address, he vehemently condemned the attack and held Russia accountable for its actions.
Zelensky labeled Russia’s invasion as a display of “brutality” and made a firm commitment to seek justice. He declared, “There will be fair accountability for every manifestation of terrorism, and we will not leave a single trace of Russia on our land.”
The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has inflicted widespread devastation and loss of life, with numerous casualties and extensive damage. The missile strikes in Sloviansk serve as a stark reminder of the immense toll this conflict has taken on the Ukrainian people.
